Stanford University Medical Center is one of the leading academic medical centers in the world.

The Medical Center is comprised of Stanford Hospital & Clinics, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the Stanford School of Medicine.

To continue to serve Palo Alto and our region’s current and future healthcare needs, the Medical Center must rebuild and modernize facilities and meet new seismic safety standards issued to all acute care hospitals in California. This Renewal Project will ensure construction of a new adult hospital to replace the old facility and the expansion of Packard Children’s Hospital to increase capacity and accommodate modern technologies.

The Renewal Project will also replace outdated Stanford School of Medicine laboratories to support translation of medical breakthroughs into new cures
for patients.
